Worm charming, fire lighting and clay modelling - just some of the weird and wonderful activities which are taking place at the Land Trust's green open spaces this half term.

National land management charity the Land Trust owns, manages and maintains sites across the country, including the iconic Lady of the North at Northumberlandia, Frickley Country Park, Phoenix Park and Greenwich Ecology Park.

These sites, along with others, will be the setting for a range of fun activities to keep families entertained during the half term break.

Join the team at Northumberlandia on the morning of Wednesday 28 October for Desert Island Survival . Visitors will follow a mysterious map, leading them to the skills needed to survive on a deserted island.

Johnny Fungus Rotten and Steve Bacteria teach visitors about all things rotten at Greenwich Ecology Park on Thursday 29 October. A Really Rotten Day features worm charming and how to build your own Wormery workshops, kids will love getting muddy while hunting for all their favourite creepy crawlies.

Northumberlandia hosts a night of Halloween activities on Saturday 31 October.

Join the other ghouls and goblins at Northumberlandia this Halloween for a costume parade through the woods, spooky fireside stories and maybe even a marshmallow or two.

Other events include craft activities at Frickley Country Park in Wakefield, South Yorkshire and a range of Autumn Forest Fun at Brodsworth, North Doncaster.
